Tuition is due on the first of the month
A late fee of 10% will be applied to all tuition not paid by the 15th of the month. If tuition is not paid by the end of the month, students may be un enrolled from classes.

Class Descriptions

Bitty Combo: A perfect introduction to dance class for students ages 3-5. Students will explore rhythm, creative movement, spatial awareness, and motor development skills aw well as learn beginning ballet and tap technique in a fun kid- friendly environment. Students must be 3 years old & potty-trained to enroll.

Kinder Combo: For kindergarten & TK age students, this Ballet/ Tap combo class will continue to develop beginning tap and ballet techniques, while encouraging creative movement and motor development skills and help prepare students for grade school level dance classes.

Ballet: Students will learn classic ballet technique with focus on vocabulary, proper muscle development, skill progression, poise, and grace. Intermediate & Advanced dancers will incorporate aspects of contemporary & lyrical styles into weekly technique classes and dance choreography.

Dance Team & Prep: A program for middle school and high school students, this class is a fusion of dance styles used in high school dance team including Leap & Turn Technique, Pom, Kick, Jazz, and Commercial Hip Hop. Whether you’re on a high school dance team or preparing for a future audition, this class will help hone those skills.

Dream Possible: A dance program for elementary aged students with disabilities, we will explore a variety of skills including creative movement and basic dance skills. This class will be specially formatted to the enrolled students.

Hip Hop: This energetic and fun class will explore a variety of hip hop genres such as jazz funk, tutting, basic break dancing, social dances and more!

Jazz: This upbeat and fast-paced dance class will focus on technique, leaps, turns, strength, agility, attitude, style, precision, and classic jazz dance.

Pre-Pointe: Pre-Pointe is a ballet intensive class with will focus on strengthening, placement, and advanced ballet technique. This class is recommended for older students interested in supplementing their ballet technique and is required for students interested in dancing en Pointe. Dancers must also be enrolled in regular ballet/lyrical classes in addition to Pre-Pointe.

Pointe: Advanced ballet students may audition for placement in this class. Students must demonstrate proper strength, development, proficiency, and consistency in ballet technique before going en pointe.

Tap: Students will learn tap technique while focusing on rhythm, musicality, complex skill development and sound clarity. Students will learn classic Musical Theater tap, modern Rhythm tap styles, and combinations.

Acro: Classes will focus on strength, flexibility, and safety progressions. Students will learn a variety of tumbling, dance, and flexibility/contortion skills with a heavy emphasis on variation, inversions, and transitions. Students are assigned acro levels according to skills and progressions as designated by Yume Dance Studio Certified Curriculum. In order to provide safe classes with strong and appropriate progressions, students will "level up" only when they have achieved all skills in their assigned level regardless of age.  

Dream Team: Invitation & audition only performance classes for competitive dancers.

Class Level & Placement

Yume Dance Studio encourages individual growth and positive self-esteem while learning new skills and developing proper, safe technique. Yume determines student level based upon ability, experience, and approximate grade level. Contact our office to find the best fitting level for your child.

General placement guidelines:


INTRODUCTORY CLASSES

Bitty Combo: Ages 3-6. Students must be 3 years old and potty-trained before enrolling.
Kinder Combo: Kindergarten and TK students.

PRIMARY CLASSES

Debut: 1st - 3rd grade students
Premiere: approximately 3rd-6th grade students. 3rd graders may only enroll with teacher approval.

INTERMEDIATE CLASSES

Mainstage: 5th grade and up.
Centerstage: 5th grade and up
Students are placed into Mainstage and Centerstage based upon technical skills such as leaps, turn, and transitional steps.

ADVANCED CLASSES

Spotlight: invite only
Encore: invite only
These are advanced level classes. Placement in Spotlight or Encore is by audition and instructor approval.

SPECIALTY CLASSES

Dance Team & Prep: Middle School and High School Students
PrePointe & Pointe: Middle School and High School students. invite only

Dream Possible: elementary aged students

ACRO CLASSES

Intro to Acro ages 3-6

Beginning Acro ages 5+

Intermediate Acro ages 8+

Advanced Acro ages 8+

Students will be placed in levels based teacher evaluations and skills mastered

Yume Dance Studio Acro Curriculum has been cultivated over the past 20 years and includes progressions and skills as identified through USAGymnastics, Acrobatic Arts, and other nationally renowned acrobatic certifications and tumbling programs.

All class placement is at the discretion of Yume Dance Studio staff and teachers. New students may be asked to come in for a placement/trial class before final registration to ensure the best fit.
